No, you can't see the Nurse, sorry...

Nothing makes me more angry. My son came home from school today with a 101.5 fever. He looked miserable, he felt miserable. He planted himself on the couch and didn't move or speak. This kid is normally causing ALL kinds of trouble from the SECOND he hits the door... He asked TWICE today to see the nurse. Felt bad all day.. He was told, not right now, and then, wait until you get home... Honestly, are they really wathing these kids? Makes me wonder what my tax dollars pay for and maybe I would be better off to homeschool or try private school. This is the same kid, who last year, fell at recess, injured his arm (his writing arm mind you!) Asked to see the nurse, was denied, and guess what? You guessed it, a broken arm, in both bones! I wonder if the teacher learned her lesson when he showed up with his arm in a cast for a month??? I don't expect these teachers to be "nurses", but the school DOES have a nurse on duty. What's she there for if you can't see her when you ask????
It just makes me question the whole public school system in general. If you can't see that a kid is obviously ill and NEEDS to be home, then what ARE you paying attention to? Are you really watching that closely? Do you really know him THAT well? I thought teachers knew their students better than parents most of the time!! Well, if she knows him, she would know, he wouldn't ask for the nurse if he didn't think he really needed her, he's really NOT a complainer...
Glad to see my tax dollars going to GREAT use once again.....
