Thanks for the Guilt Trip

I love my kids, but doesn't every Mom wish for time away from them???? I am planning a trip to see my sis, who live in New York. She just had her first baby and we all live 1000 miles away. My parents promised to go visit, and then cancelled on her last minute. Long story... anyway.... I decided I would take a long weekend and visit. My parents are now giving me a hard time because this trip is "just not fair" to my husband. OK people, we are talking about THREE days here. Am I the one losing it here? I don't think I should be made to feel guilty for a 3 day , kid free trip. I can't help it if she lives in New York. Are we just supposed to never visit?? And I can't afford to bring kids with me...
I spend enough of my day going on Guilt Trips. Thanks for this one, that's JUST what I needed!

Weekends and Soccer Moms

Nothin' much to blog about today. Just running around like crazies between soccer games, mowing the lawn and grocery shopping ( ouch! ) Thank God for great husbands who will go do the shopping for ya and take 3 kids with him!!!
I do think we do more work on the weekends then we do during the week! At least it seems that way!!
My Ben is feeling much better and back to his tricks. He ran like a gazelle during soccer today!! That boy has a stride, he's a great runner. Then we went back for Jack's game. He's not such a runner, but he's so darn cute. Love watching 5 year olds play soccer, how 'bout you? They travel in packs , it's so funny!! They are learning though....

No, you can't see the Nurse, sorry...

Nothing makes me more angry. My son came home from school today with a 101.5 fever. He looked miserable, he felt miserable. He planted himself on the couch and didn't move or speak. This kid is normally causing ALL kinds of trouble from the SECOND he hits the door... He asked TWICE today to see the nurse. Felt bad all day.. He was told, not right now, and then, wait until you get home... Honestly, are they really wathing these kids? Makes me wonder what my tax dollars pay for and maybe I would be better off to homeschool or try private school. This is the same kid, who last year, fell at recess, injured his arm (his writing arm mind you!) Asked to see the nurse, was denied, and guess what? You guessed it, a broken arm, in both bones! I wonder if the teacher learned her lesson when he showed up with his arm in a cast for a month??? I don't expect these teachers to be "nurses", but the school DOES have a nurse on duty. What's she there for if you can't see her when you ask????
It just makes me question the whole public school system in general. If you can't see that a kid is obviously ill and NEEDS to be home, then what ARE you paying attention to? Are you really watching that closely? Do you really know him THAT well? I thought teachers knew their students better than parents most of the time!! Well, if she knows him, she would know, he wouldn't ask for the nurse if he didn't think he really needed her, he's really NOT a complainer...
Glad to see my tax dollars going to GREAT use once again.....

Preserving your Memories

Today I had a Scrapbooking Get Together for a friend of mine who sells Creative Memories. I don't know how many of you out there do scrapbooking, but if you have kids, in my book it's a MUST. It is SO important to preserve the memories of your kids and their childhood.. I am now hooked on Digital Scrapbooking. I can complete whole albums in 3 days. It's the most awesome thing ever invented and I am NOT a computer savvy gal! I completely and whole heartedly endorse Creative Memories. They are the BEST for products, support, ideas. They truly are the leaders in this industry. You cannot believe the things, not just albums anymore , that you can create!! Check out their website. Do your kids a favor, start today. My kids LOVE looking through their albums. It's so great for their self esteem and for their "memories". We must be the keepers of our family memories!!

Happy Scrapping for those that already are,
Heidi

All about Me!

Hello and welcome to my 1st blog!! I decided to start a blog titled "Where's the Nanny?" because that is a question I ask myself at least 83 times every day.... I hope there are many other moms out there that can relate!
First off, as you can see, I have 6, yep, SIX, kiddos. We have 5 boys, and 1 tough little girl. Alex, our oldest son , is 11. We call him our slug. He doesn't like to participate in sports, or pretty much any physical activity. He loves playing the Nintendo DS and watching TV.
Matthew, is 9, and is our baseball player. His goal is to play in the Major Leagues and be the next Albert Pujols. He loves school and is quite a reader.
Ben, is 8, and he's our trouble maker. Many of my blogs will be about the trouble Ben has caused me or the school that day!
Jack, is 5, and he is a sweetheart. He is adorable and still sweet and innocent! He loves kindergarten and playing soccer.
Lauren, is 3, yep, the tough little girl! She looks and acts JUST like all her brothers. But, she still has a "girly" side and loves dolls, Barbies, dresses and hair!
Sam, is 1, and he is a sweetie. He watches all his brothers and sister and is learning a new trick every day.
My husband is very supportive and has a great sense of humor. He works about 50 hours a week and I work 2 days a week, so we have to support one another to get through... We manage to get through each week one day at a time, mainly by trying to laugh alot and find the funny things in every day. If we didn't laugh, we would cry, literally.....
I'll keep you "posted" and you'll see what I mean! Please send me your comments, suggestions, advice, etc. I'm always looking for advice from others, esp. Moms, who have been there and done that!!!
